After last year’s tremendous success, the Global DevOps Bootcamp is back, and we’re delighted to announce we’ve partnered with the DevOps Porto community to host it on our premises on June 16.
The Global DevOps Bootcamp is a free 1-day event held by local DevOps communities all over the world, centrally organized by Xpirit & Solidify and sponsored by Microsoft. Throughout the day, attendees will have the chance to discuss, learn, and play with DevOps concepts with people from all continents who share the same enthusiasm.
Titled “From one release per month to multiple releases a day – Applied modern release patterns and practices”, this year’s event is all about improving the release cadence and help participants understand DevOps trends and insights that enable multiple releases per day. It’s bound to be an amazing combination of getting one’s hands dirty and sharing experience and knowledge around VSTS, Azure, DevOps with other community members.
Below is the preliminary agenda for GDBC 2018:
10:00 Kickoff
10:15 Keynote by Microsoft
10:30 Keynote 2: Breaking down the Monolith
11:15 Break

The hands-on part will be based on a common application where we try to solve as many challenges as possible, including ideas like:
- How to containerize an existing application
- How to add telemetry (app insights) to the application and gather hypothesis information
- How to use telemetry to monitor the availability
- How to use feature toggles to move an application into production without disrupting end-users
- How to use release gates
- How to make DB schema changes
- Use Blue-Green Deployments
The first Global DevOps Bootcamp took place last year in 30 different venues across 19 countries. Over 1.500 attendees participated in it, burning 8 years of CPU power. This year’s edition will absolutely crush these numbers as 70 venues already signed up for it. You can learn more about it here.
